Our speaker at the Rotary Club on this occasion is a member of our Club, Mike Griffiths, who spoke about his work growing and selling herbs.
Starting in 1983 from small beginnings, Mike explained to us a number of the individual herbs grown by the company and their division into the two main categories of Culinary and Medical purposes.
Mike then turned to the growth of the business that owed a great deal to the inventive work of a local expert who specialised in building machinery to deal with the specific requirements of the business.
Mike concluded his talk by encouraging his audience to experiment themselves with the growth of a few popular herbs in both categories that were not difficult to grow and produce a generous return.
The unusual subject of Mike’s presentation proved to be both interesting and informative, producing a number of questions.
