New Club member Jenny Edwards, a retired Sports and Performing Arts teacher, by way of an introduction to her career, invited Julian Cattley, Director of Music at Oswestry School, to be her first speaker today.
Julian, who took up his post at Oswestry School after spending 10 years at Walford and North Shropshire College, spoke about the varied and interesting duties of his role and the part that music plays in the life of Oswestry School.
At the end of his entertaining talk, members of the Club joined Julian around the Dining Rooms' piano in a rousing rendition of two hymns. "Guide Me O Thou Great Redeemer" (set to Cwm Rhondda) and "Jerusalem" found us in good voice!
