A Mile of coins at St. Ives Sea Front 2017

The Rotary Club of St Ives had a very busy August Bank holiday Monday running a number of events. The photograph shows Rotarians collecting money on the harbour front in a “mile of coins.”

In this annual fundraising event, a yellow line is placed on the pavement along the Wharf & members of the public are invited to place a silver , gold or even bronze along this line. As usual the event attracted much interest. St Ives residents & visitors were most generous and despite the blustery weather, the line stretched to nearly 100 yards

12 Rotarians led by Rob Knowles ran the event with a special thanks to Bob Jenkins  for counting up the coins.

Also on the Wharf at the same time Sheila and Kevin Percival ran the 'Tombola Teddy' stall raising money for Rotary's Charity Fund.
