Our Club has been supporter of the Charity Loving Humanity since it was founded by Amy Peake in 2019. The aim of the charity is to nuture women and girls living in dire pverty and war zones, with an emphasis on education and the supply of sanitary materials. Having raised £800 President Elke was keen to round this up to £1k, so she and a group of her swimmimg friends (and one brave male Rotarian Mike Edwards!) undertook a sponsored swim at Porthepan recently.Fortunately it was aglorious afternoon and they were able to stay in for 10 minutes, despite the sea being at it's coldest this time of the year, and they raised another £450! Many thanks to Suzanne and Jeremy Hawkins of Porthpean Sailing Club who provided changing facilities and essentia hot drinks afterwards.
