The club has had a number of initiatives over the years and here is a flavour of what we have achieved and also those activities that are still being supported.
An acclaimed production that was widely distributed to schools.
This was a club initiative. Local doctors provide immediate medical treatment to anyone involved in a serious accident or medical emergency
Together with the other Rotary Clubs in Plymouth we raised money to sponsor a research fellow into diabetes at the Peninsular Medical School at Derriford to commemorate the Centennial of Rotary International in 2005.
An annual activity to raise monies for local charities
The club continues to support this amazing project.
This a project of our colleagues in the Plymouth Roborough club which we support.
These work shops produce artificial limbs originally designed in India.
Together with other clubs under privileged children are taken out for the day. It is a national campaign.
We hold this annual competition which is open to all secondary schools and colleges in Plymouth.
Each year the Club's president selects a favoured charity that he/she wishes to support.
An annual event which is becoming our main fund raiser. Each year a specific local charity is chosen to be the main beneficiary.
The District has an excellent Young Leaders Award course set on Dartmoor and is of a week's duration. The club actively supports this by sponsoring suitable candidates
We have enjoyed being twinned with our colleagues in Brest for many years. We make exchange visits every other year. These are over a long weekend and we alternate which club acts as hosts.
In recent years we have visited the European Union HQ in Brussels, and a Brussels Rotary Club. We have also visited clubs in Prague and Dublin. We have also visited the House of Westminster.
