Founded in 2000 as a millennium project by the Rotary Club of Helston-Lizard in Cornwall, ShelterBox has grown into an internationally recognised disaster relief organisation. Today, it operates in partnership with Rotary International, leveraging Rotary’s global network of 1.4 million members to reach communities in crisis more effectively and efficiently.

ShelterBox aid packages typically include sturdy tents, thermal blankets, water filters, cooking sets, solar lights, and other essentials tailored to the needs of each emergency. These boxes are designed to restore dignity and safety to families living in the aftermath of disaster — offering not just shelter, but hope.

Rotary’s Role

Rotary clubs play a vital role in supporting ShelterBox through fundraising, awareness campaigns, and logistical support on the ground.
