Sidcup Rotary Club welcomes people who are interested in and care about their environment. Our aim is to ensure everyone feels welcome and that no one feels out of place. We have a Satellite membership to cater for those who wish to be part of a younger group. We are also exploring new membership models, including corporate membership, e-clubs and Rotaract (previously for 18 to 28-year-olds).
We are a non-political organisation and pride ourselves on being friendly, non-bureaucratic and open to new ideas. Gone are the days when we would accept only professionals or those in business. What really matters is that you are sociable, tolerant, action-oriented and keen to make things happen.
We normally meet on Wednesdays and mix business with pleasure. We invite interesting speakers to talk about their work, hobbies or charity. Sidcup Rotary Club has a Benevolent Trust, which makes donations to good causes after careful consideration and approval by its members. Members generally join at least one committee so that everyone is involved in the running of the club.
As individuals, we are involved in a variety of local organisations where we put our skills to use and raise funds for our Benevolent Trust and other charities. Our principal fundraiser is our Christmas Collection, when the whole community enjoys seeing the sleigh and having the chance to talk briefly to Santa. We also hold quiz nights, which are always great fun — all proceeds from these go to charities chosen each year. Our largest single donation to date was over £37,000 to fund a new purpose-built community bus for the Bexley Accessible Transport Scheme, which is regularly used by a variety of age groups and people with disabilities.
Last year, we raised and donated over £40,000 to various charitable organisations.

As Club President for this Rotary year, I would like to welcome you to our website and thank you for your interest in our club.
We meet at Chislehurst Golf Club and host a variety of guest speakers who are both informative and entertaining. Visitors are always welcome at our meetings, so please check the details on this site.
Our club was founded 90 years ago, in 1935, and still maintains its most important link to the local community by supporting charities and humanitarian projects, both at home and abroad.
Each year, we support the annual Poppy Appeal and Marie Curie collections at local supermarkets, raising money and awareness for these causes. A highlight for us, and for many in the community, is our Christmas sleigh with Santa and his reindeer, spreading festive cheer and music. This is a long-established tradition — so look out for us!
