About us

THE ROTARY CLUB OF HUNTINGDON CROMWELL

Huntingdon_Cromwell_Donations_and_Awards_to_2024-2025_30Jun25.xlsx

Huntingdon is one of the four principal towns in the District of Huntingdonshire. The others being St Ives the home of the Chapel on the Bridge, St Neot's the largest town in the County of Cambridgeshire and Ramsey which was built up around the gate of Ramsey Abbey.

The Club adopted its name from Oliver Cromwell who was born into a family which was for a time one of the wealthiest and most influential in the area.   Educated at Huntingdon Grammar School, now the Cromwell Museum, and at Cambridge University, he became a minor East Anglia landowner who made a living by farming and collecting rents. It was the civil wars of the 1640s which lifted him from obscurity to power.

The Rotary Club of Huntingdon Cromwell meets at 7.00pm on Mondays (except Bank Holidays) - at The George Hotel, George Street, Huntingdon, Cambs PE28 3AB.

Visitors are welcome and should contact the Club Secretary, Mim Piper, on 07752 790870 by 9am on the Friday before.

The Club actively donates to local, national and internationl causes. For a list showing the last 3 years donation follow the link below.

This money has, in the main, been raised through the efforts of Club members who have embraced the Rotary ethos of 'Service Before Self'.

Explore our website for a flavour of what we do. These events not only generate fun and friendship but raise significant funds that have or will be donated to primarily local charities.

We welcome new members and if that could be you please visit the 'Contact' section of the website and get in touch

Our President

Our President this year is Maria Casingcasing who received her chain of office at a ceremony on 6th July.

"I'm truly honoured to step into the role of president of the Rotary Club of Huntingdon Cromwell this year. It's inspiring to see the many ways our club continues to make a real difference - from supporting international projects like the Purple Community Fund, Shelter Box, and the Lisa Kent trust, to our hands-on local work with Sailability, Rotary Childrens Fun Day, the Santa Float, or supplying defibrillators across Huntingdon. I'm excited to build on this incredible foundation alongside such dedicated Rotarian members and friends, as we keep bringing positive change to our community and beyond. Here's to a fantastic year ahead, full of service, fellowship, and impact!"
