Welcome To The

Rotary Club of Solihull St Alphege

The Rotary Club of Solihull St Alphege brings together local business and community-minded people to support charitable causes, foster fellowship, and run impactful projects across Solihull and the West Midlands.

Key Activities and Community Work

Local Fundraising:

The club organizes major fundraising events—such as Bollywood evenings, Fashion Shows and social gatherings—to support local charities like Help Harry Help Others, Solihull Young Carers, Marie Curie and healthcare upgrades at regional facilities.

Healthcare Initiatives:

Members have driven fundraising campaigns to transform clinical environments, including creating a bright, dedicated paediatric engagement bay at the Solihull Hospital Urgent Treatment Centre.

Youth Support and Development:

The club invests in young people by hosting annual youth debate competitions, Young Photographer and supporting local young carers with outings and activities and organizing community engagement.

Community Action:

Members engage in hands-on projects, such as food bank drives for local crisis hubs, visiting a local retirement home and environmental bulb planting and litter picking events in local parks.

Fellowship and International Links:

The Club meets twice a month for dinner, speakers, quizzes and more, while also maintaining international ties, such as club twinning and hosting visits with groups like the Rotary Club of Stade in Germany.

 Twinning

We are twinned with Rotary Club of Stade near Hamburg in Germany.  Last year a few of us visited them.  They looked after us very well and we were delighted when they awarded a Paul Harris Fellowship to our Rtn Ian Snelling.

Projects

In March 2025 we launched our project to raise funds for Solihull Hospital.

This is to create a Paediatric Consultation Area (Dedicated Children’s Area) within the Urgent Treatment Centre.  We were pleased to get the Variety Club on board to help with this and all the necessary funds have now been raised. We are planning another project with the Birmingham Universities Trust. Watch this space.
