About us

Our club continues to give support to the local community. Last year we held our 10th Annual Charity Horse Ride, with Air Ambulance, RABI and Peak 4x4 Response being our beneficiaries. Although 128 riders registered, only 76 actually rode due to the high temperature forecast. We provided water and there were two slosh stations part way round the course and all returned safely without any adverse effects on the horse - or riders!
Local to Shottle, where the ride takes place, we are engaged in a community project at Handley Farm.
We also helped at Croots Farm https://croots.co.uk on their Open Day in June and the Shire Horse Association event in August.
Each December we take Santa on his sleigh around 12 areas in our local community. We also help him at the Grotto at Derby Garden Centre.
Members have been on visits to Duke's Barn, Lea Green and Wingfield station https://www.wingfieldstation1947.co.uk. There's been charity evenings at Sylhet Spice and a film show at The Village Inn as well as a French Themed event there. We enjoyed a voyage on "Birdswood", the historic narrowboat, with "Friends of Cromford Canal" (to whom we supplied branded hi-viz tabards). https://www.facebook.com/groups/FriendCromCanal/?locale=en_GB.
Rotary Amber Valley is registered with the "Climate Clever" initiative and we are long-time supporters of Aquabox. https://aquabox.org.

We are always on the look out for community-minded folks to help us with our projects so if you are interested to hear more about our club please contact us by clicking here.
