Welcome to the Rotary Club of Southport
The Rotary Club of Southport is one of the North West's most senior Clubs - certainly as measured by length of service! The first Rotary Club in our region was started in Liverpool back in August 1913, followed by second place Chester (February 1922) and third place Southport, which was chartered as Rotary Great Britain & Ireland Club No.88 on 13th December 1922. For over 100 years, generations of our members have been doing their bit to make Paul Harris's vision of 'Service Above Self' a reality. The forty or so members of our Club enjoy a varied Rotary experience, with an interesting mixture of Service and Social events, and an eclectic selection of speakers at our Wednesday lunchtime meetings. We meet at the Masonic Hall, 13 Duke St., PR8 1LS, the first, third and fourth Wednesdays of the month, and at the Richmond Hotel, Scarisbrick New Road on the second Wednesday. If there are 5 meetings in the month, then we will have a Poverty Lunch at All Saints Church Hall.
Visitors and new members are always welcome to join us. Please contact Gerry Heaslip on 07890710198 for details.
