We recognise that not everyone is able to become a member of the Rotary Club. For those who share our ideals and would like to maintain some connection with the local community we offer the opportunity to become a “Friend of Rotary".  Now it is even easier to become involved with a local Rotary Club and to give something back to the community.

Becoming a Friend of Rotary allows those who share our ideals and objectives to participate in our activities without the responsibility of full membership. As a matter of fact, there are many people who would qualify for membership but simply do not have sufficient time to join a Rotary Club.  Being a Friend of Rotary allows them to help in local fund raising and service projects by participating in club events or by making annual donations. Many club events are not specifically for fund raising but networking, this is an opportunity to enjoy activities and each other’s company, catch up with old friends and make or develop new ones.

As a Friend of Rotary, they will be kept abreast of club events and will be invited to participate or contribute to Rotary activities which may simply be by giving some of your time. All assistance  is appreciated in helping us help the community.  Friends of the Rotary cannot be called Rotarians as it is not intended as a substitution for existing Rotary club membership. Anyone interested in becoming a member of Rotary would still have to follow the usual procedures for membership.

Friends of Rotary is a program that invites individuals to team up with Rotary for a year, two years or forever!  Becoming a Friend of Rotary allows you to share our ideals and objectives without the responsibility or commitment required from a full member - Rotarians call this fellowship.

Come along and give it a try!
