The Rotary Club of Andover staged a Cyclethon at Thruxton Racing Circuit to raise money for local charities. Cyclists were invited to cycle around Thruxton Circuit as many times as they liked and could choose to raise money for either the Rotary Club of Andover or their own charities. Our very own President completed 20 laps of the circuit which is approximately 48 miles. Our President did have difficulties walking after this effort but it was worth it as we raised over £500 for local charities! It was drizzling with rain for most of the morning and it was very windy throughout the day so on review we will stage the event earlier next year to avoid the bad weather.
