Food Packing - Ukraine Emergency Appeal

During Volunteer Expo club members worked with other Rotarians on the packing line.

Feed the Hungry is a humanitarian aid charity that regularly feeds over 400 000 children and young people in 25 countries around the world.

Since the beginning of the invasion of Ukraine in February 2022, Feed the Hungry has been collecting and sending resources to Romania, Moldova, Poland and Southern Ukraine to help support the huge number of Ukrainian refugees that have been displaced into neighbouring countries.

Through the Rotarian Task Force, £3 000 000 has been raised by Rotraians to support the people of Ukraine.  During Volunteer Expo, Rotarians packed 7.5 tonnes of food paid for by the money sent to the Task Force.  On the 16th May the food will be shipped to Moldova for onward distribution into Ukraine.

Each box contains sufficient food for a family of four for a week.
