Our biggest fundraiser is our annual Xmas collection is when we normally collect between £10k to £11k for The Small Community Grants fund unfortunately this collection in the normal format had to be shelved for this year - We don’t carry a reserve for this fund as every penny collected is always distributed to good causes locally at the start of the year.
So, we decided to run a Silent auction in its place
Due to the generosity of the donors and the bidders we were able to raise over £2200 in early December
Our fund-raising efforts have been seriously impacted by the Covid restrictions this year, but we have still managed to raise via our online silent auction and other initiatives a credible £9350 over the entire Rotary year (2020/21) and donate a number of small grants
We have donated over £2750 each to Lewisham and Bromley food banks (£5500 in total) this Rotary year - This money was raised by members as we are unable to hold the regular weekly meetings members have decided to make a personal donation through the club ( in lieu of our dining fees ) to these foodbanks
£1000 to St Christopher’s Hospice
£600 to Rotary Foundation
£400 to Children in need
And various smaller grants to the following organizations:
Bromley & Croydon Women’s Aid
Bromley & District Talking news
Bromley Young Carers
Campaign Against living miserably (Calm)
Cruse Bereavement
Friends of the Pru
Rotary Polio Appeal
