What is the history of Spike Island? Want to know what’s living beneath the surface of the Mersey? Which species use the estuary to feed? How has the Mersey Gateway Bridge affected the animals and plants that live along the shores? Then come along to Spike Island and join one of our FREE guided walks, which can be available to take place on Thursday mornings in the summer months.
These educational outings take in some of the best views of the Mersey Estuary, the new Mersey Gateway Bridge and the surrounding landmarks of Widnes and Runcorn.
