Lunch Time meeting - Club Assembly

Thu, Jun 14th 2018 at 1:00 pm - 2:15 pm

Roll out of all next years plans to the club members

On Thursday 14th June 2018 President Lindsay Roy welcomed 15 Club Rotarians and assistant District Governor Heather Stuart to this lunch time meeting held at the Gilvenbank Hotel in Glenrothes.

Eight apologies for nonattendance were received.

On reception were Peter May with Ron Page saying grace.

President Lindsay presented a gift to the Gilvenbank staff as a thank you for their good service throughout the year.

Praise was given to Will Wishart who made a great job of organising the Kids Out Day which was held at the Deer Centre in Cupar yesterday this being our last event of the Rotary year. 90 children with carers were taken from local schools in buses provided by Hamish Gordon from Leslie and John Fergus School’s own bus. This is the 4th year we have visited the Deer park and as in previous years the weather was very kind to us and the Park Rangers were brilliant as usual putting the children and carers into groups to ensure no-one was left out. The children were escorted round the park by the Rangers who explained about the types of deer and were also allowed to feed the deer and touch a set of antlers! The 2 brown bears were frolicking in their pool enjoying the warm sunshine while the otters were playing by the waterside providing great entertainment for all. Before the end of the day there was a spectacular Birds of Prey display.  A massive thanks to the park Rangers led by Yvonne who again made this a successful and very enjoyable day and to all the Rotarians who were there to support the event.

Today was the Clubs Assembly where President Lindsay Roy introduced Assistant District Governor Heather Stuart to those attending. President Lindsay eventually passed the meeting over to incoming President Anne Sampson as she along with Budget controller Walter Fletcher and her council chairs rolled out and agreed their programme for the forthcoming year effective from 5th July 2018.

There will be a change of venue for the next meeting which will take place on the 21st June 2018 at the Pinkertons function Suite in Glenrothes where members will hear Rotarian Paul Harris give his combined vocational, please meet 12.45pm for starting at 12.55 pm. On reception will be Peter May and Jack Dempsey who should say grace
