Two apologies for absence were received.

Jim Boyd brought back greetings from the Rotary Club of South Queensferry and last week’s scatter week meant that 9 Rotarians and partners attended the Rotary club of Leven’s Burns Super evening at Old Manor Hotel last Friday.

Geoff Sampson advised that the collection taken after the Funeral of Ian Chalmers realised £130 with the family gifting this to club.

Wilna Roger mentioned the possibility of a club competition for the best poem for the forthcoming Royal Wedding.

IPP Brian Johnson, spoke briefly about his trip to India for the National immunisation day to beat Polio advising that a fuller report will be forthcoming.

Anne Sampson advised that the Rotary Rag had been completed and would be distributed next week, being an update on our Clubs 2017 Calendar year.

The speaker at this meeting was New member the Rev Alistair McLeod who gave his full vocational, talking about his business and personal life he was introduced by President Lindsay as somebody with a rich tapestry of life. Alistair advised he was born in Cellerdyke 81 years ago, His father worked on the tugs on the North Sea and it was no surprise when Alistair went to work at Rosyth Dockyard, before carrying out National Service in the Airforce. He had always wanted to be a minister but was discouraged from doing so. After a very rewarding and interesting period of his life as a Probation officer and in Social work where he was often promoted to eventually being away from dealing face to face with people, which he loved he eventually realised his calling when he became a minister. On eventually reaching retiral age he tried retiring but due to a shortage of Ministers he was always being asked back by the church of Scotland to help in various roles. He has now gone back to help as the Minister at Markinch and Thornton Parish Church,

The Rotary Vote of thanks was given by Will Wishart.

This coming week 8th February 2018 we will have pupils from Colydean Primary School Reciting Burns Poems.

The next meeting will be on the 8th February 2018 to be held at the Gilvenbank Hotel. Please meet 12.45pm for starting at 12.55pm.
