On Thursday 14th December 2017 President Lindsay Roy chaired the meeting as he welcomed 19 Rotarians to this lunch time meeting held at the Gilvenbank Hotel.

On reception was Peter May with Bill Wooton saying grace.

SVP Anne Sampson advised that our Christmas break would be 28th Dec 2017 and 4th January 2018.  Walter Fletcher invited members to his home for the afternoon of the 4th January 2018. A scatter week will be 25thJanuary with many members attending the Rotary Club of Leven Burns Night on 26thJanuary 2018.

Our Christmas Raffle was won by Andre Hawryliw of the Rotary Club of Howe of Fife and received £250, Wilna Roger won second prize of £100 and Rube Fernando’s son third prize of £50. Many thanks to all who purchased the tickets.

Many thanks to all those who contributed to the Shoebox appeal this year with special mention being made of Collydean Primary School who filled 54 boxes – Well done.

The club held their SGM at today’s meeting and inducted new member Ian Oates, The SGM was to confirm the office bearers for the next Presidential year commencing July 2018 and approve the accounts for the last Presidential Year. Club President will be Anne Sampson, Senior Vice President Ewen McDonald, JVP to be appointed, Secretary Jack Dempsey, Treasurer Geoff Sampson. The club’s new internal photographic competition for Autumn Trees organised by Jim Boyd was judged by Malcolm Robertson and won by Geoff Sampson, Second Wilna Roger and third Anne Sampson

Glenrothes Rugby Club under 14's benefitted from the support of ourselves by purchasing a new set of strips sporting the Clubs Rotary Logo. A Presentation was made by Rotary President Lindsay Roy handing over the strips to Rugby club President John Goodall, with 8 of the team present. Rotary were supported on the night by fund raiser Iain Haywood, SVP Anne Sampson and treasurer Geoff Sampson. Rugby Club Vice President Sheila Beare and coaching coordinator and parents were also on hand.

The Auchmuty High School Christmas tea dance for the Senior Citizens took place Friday afternoon. Once again, we supported them by providing party/goody bags which had been organised and filled by community chair Wilna Roger with support from Anne Sampson and Irene Roy
The afternoon was a great success and organised by year 5 and 6 and Mr Breckinridge

The annual Santa collection which took place outside Asda on Sunday raised £620. Many thanks to Asda for allowing us the facility for the collection, to all the Rotarian's who braved the cold and all the many shoppers who generously gave of their change to support rotary's many good causes.

For information to the Public ALL money we raise goes directly back to good causes in the main locally and Internationally mainly humanitarian disasters.

This week’s meeting on Thursday 21st December 2017 will be held at the Gilvenbank Hotel and will be the clubs Christmas dinner where our member Rev Alistair MacLeod will give the Christmas message.
