Paul Harris Fellowship for Martin Spooner

At the first meeting of the 2017/18 year, club member Martin Spooner of Wokingham was presented the prestigious Paul Harris Fellowship (PHF) for exceptional service to Rotary and his local community.
In the past 20 years, Martin's been President twice (2008/09 and 2015/16) and led countless fundraising and community events.
A quiet soul who walks the walk, rather than just talking about something, Martin was truly taken aback when his fellowship was announced.
In an email sent the following day he thanked the Club: “I’m truly grateful and humbled by this recognition. The Paul Harris Fellowship is the highest honour to which a regular Rotary member can aspire.”
Recognising Martin’s huge contribution to the Club, we cannot fail to mention the unstinting support he and the Club have received from Martin’s wife, Margo. Over the years, she has spent hours helping at street collections, made dozens of bacon butties and injected a tremendous sense of fun into everything she's done - be it a snowy Christmas collection or a lively music quiz.
There are now four PHFs in the Crowthorne Club.
