Lunch time meeting No Speaker Council Reports

On Thursday 12th October 2017 President Lindsay Roy welcomed 15 Club Rotarians, and a guest Ian Oates to this lunch time meeting which was held at the Gilvenbank Hotel, Glenrothes. 

Nine apologies for absence were received.

Alistair McLeod brought back greetings from the Rotary Clubs of St Andrews whom he had visited over the past week.

President Lindsay Roy thanked those Rotarians and the two Interactors from Glenwood High School who supported the bag packing at Morrison’s last Friday evening 6th October 2017. We must thank Morrisons store for their support and thank their customers who generously donated to the Rotary’s good causes with a sum of £176 being raised.

There was no speaker today as this meeting was for Council Reports where Council chairs fed back to members where they were at with their various projects. Vocational Chair Murray Grubb confirmed that the Primary School Quiz had been organised for 22nd Feb 2018 and that the Top of the Form High School Quiz 14th March 2018. A distillery visit was being looked at for a visit and that we were looking for mentors for the schools and the Auchmuty Learning Centre.

Foundation Chair IPP Brian Johnson advised that he was looking to purchase Christmas Cards and that there were only eleven known cases of Polio worldwide at the moment.

Walter Fletcher responsible for budget planning supported by a PowerPoint presentation updated members on the clubs Financial position. 

Geoff Sampson advised unfortunately that due to a clash of dates and lack of fit and or available members the three Gavel matches during October against other clubs have now been cancelled

This week’s meeting on Thursday 19th October 2017 will be a lunch time meeting to be held at the Gilvenbank Hotel. please meet 12.45pm for starting at 12.55pm on reception, will be Jim Boyd and Peter May. The speaker this week will be Dan Brown, speaking about Glenrothes 70 years on.
