Lunch time meeting with Speaker Bernie Brown from Cadham Pharmacy

On Thursday 5th October 2017 President Lindsay Roy welcomed 23 Club Rotarians, and 2 guest speakers Laura Brown and Maree Ferguson to this lunch time

 meeting which was held at the Gilvenbank Hotel, Glenrothes.

Jim Boyd brought back greetings from the Rotary Clubs of Kirkcaldy and Cupar whom he had visited over the past week.

Archie Lawrie advised that he had been tasked with pulling together interesting facts about the 60 years of our club and that he would be contacting past presidents of the club for information for eventual forwarding to Rotary International.

Wilna Roger advised that she along with Brian Johnson had been going into the High Schools talking about RYLA and Mock Interviews, Tracy Thomson had been speaking about the Shoebox appeal.

SVP Anne Sampson advised that a very interesting and informative visit to view the facility of the Aberlour Trust in Glenrothes and a cheque presentation of £250 was made to Jackie Kirk yesterday 4th October.

Iain Haywood mentioned that he was requiring additional people to support the bag packing at Morrison’s last Friday evening 6th October 2017.

Brian Johnson spoke about the forthcoming Past Presidents dinner

Our speakers this week were Laura Brown daughter of Pharmacist and owner of Cadham Pharmacy Health Centre, Bernadette Brown and Maree Ferguson talking about the Pharmacy and the newly installed medicines dispensing robot. Bernadette and her family now own the award winning Cadham pharmacy health centre. Their main new service this year is enhanced minor illness triage with pharmacist and nurse practitioners. this means they can triage and assess for all common clinical conditions and infections including ear, nose, throat, skin and UTI’s. they can assess and treat for most conditions and signpost you if needed to your GP practice or out of hours if needed. Scottish Pharmacist was at Cadham Pharmacy in Glenrothes in April for the launch of the ‘pharmacy of the future’, which includes state-of-the-art technology, to interactive touchscreens. Pharmacy owner, Bernadette Brown, really has taken community pharmacy into a different realm.

The Rotary vote of thanks was given by Wilna Roger.

This week’s meeting on Thursday 12th October 2017 will be a lunch time meeting to be held at the Gilvenbank Hotel. please meet 12.45pm for starting at 12.55pm on reception, will be Wilna Roger and Peter May. There will be no speaker this week as the meeting will be for Council Reports with Committee chairs talking about their ongoing projects.
