Rotary Youth Leadership Award (RYLA)

Week long residential course at Grafham Water with a view to character building and personal development.


Course requirements:

Dates: 29th July to 5th August inclusive.  You must be able to attend Grafham Water RYLA residential course between these dates.  (Transport from Oundle area to Grafham Water and return can be arranged if necessary.)

Ages: 18-26 on 29th July 2017

You will need to provide your own kit including walking boots.

Applicants must be able to commit themselves to the whole week. The course is designed on a basis of team competition with each day building on the knowledge and experience gained in the previous days. It will involve the following:

  • Water sports

  • Practical Initiative Tests

  • Development of Interpersonal Skills

  • Camping

  • Map Reading

  • Problem Solving

  • Computer based business game

  • Lectures & Presentations

A reasonable level of physical fitness is a necessity to perform some of the tasks involved.

Cost: Will be met by the Rotary Club of Oundle.

What will you get out of it: An experience that you will not previously have received, that will develop your personality and leadership skills.  This will be a real benefit on your CV!

You will be expected to come to our Club and give a short talk to us on a mutually convenient date after the course has concluded.
