The Rotary Young Musician Competion took place at Sneaton Castle on 11 November. This was the second time such an event has been held in the Whitby area. It will be held again in 2018. The adjudicator Mr Frank James from Ravenscar,well known in the area as a talented musician, who was given a tough task in asessing some excellent performances.
Results : Luca Bloor(piano) 89 marks, Alisa Legg (Flute) 90 marks and winner Toby Welford (trombone) 92 marks.
The winner of this competition will have the opportunity of going forward to the District finals in March. The adjudications were done according to the British Federation of Music Festivals.
The Club thanked Bob Butterfield and Sarah Hydes for the piano accompaniments.
Certificates and prizes were presented by our Prersident Mike Bunn.
