President Bill Jones welcomed 15 other members, and the meeting approved proceeding to find a suitable candidate for the 2017 Rotary Youth Leadership Award Scheme camp in the summer.

There was some discussion over whether the club should be represented at the Black Tie District 1230 Rotary Foundation Centenary Dinner in Glasgow City Chambers on Friday March 3 at 6.30pm. President Bill said he would attend with his wife Rosemary, and would be happy to be joined by any other interested members. Tickets are £60 a head.

Derek Hall conducted the annual Christmas Draw, and the first prize — a bottle of 12 year-old Bowmore Islay single malt whisky — went to president Bill. The second prize of a bottle of 12 year-old Glenfiddich went to treasurer Lesley Kennedy, and bottles of wine were won by raffle organiser Derek and junior vice-president Mike Jane.

The weekly raffle for a whisky miniature was won by Douglas Dow.
