Rotarians Vernon Heritage & Charles Harper were delighted to meet Callum and donate £500 towards his off road wheelchair (pictured here with his father).
Callum is 17 years old and has a condition called Lesch-Nyhan Syndrome. He cannot walk at all and is totally reliant on a wheelchair for getting around.
The wheelchair he currently has is for flat surfaces and his ambition is to be able to get 'off road' and be able to visit the beautiful hills that surround him.
Callum is also doing his Silver Duke of Edinburgh Award in school (Ysgol Penmaes in Brecon) and as you can probably imagine, this is a real challenge for everyone involved with the chair he currently uses.
The Rotary Club of Abergavenny have been delighted to help. Callum has now raised over £13,000 of the £15,000 needed. If you would also like to donate please visit the link below.
