Stroke Awareness Day

Stroke Awareness Day  :   (Saturday 16th April 2016).

As it turned out, it was an excellent day ?  The weather held, as promised --- wet, windy and cold during the first half.  The second half was ... wet, windy and getting colder.  But the "Tuffy Battalion" of diligent, worthy, uncomplaining,  ,  and sundry good eggs ... (fellow Rotarians), completed a grand job.  The figure confirm this :

Blood Pressures taken  :  238    (possibly another 15 > 20 not recorded due to
                                                   rain / soggy papers etc).

Of which  Referrals       :   43

Of which  "Urgent"      :      4     (All of whom were over the 200).

A very big and special thanks to all of the Castle helpers, VIZ :

Drs.  Bill Riding and David Monks, and most certainly the four nurses from the Stroke Unit, Bedford Hospital.  (And a special thanks to Bob Main).

Martin Stonecliffe, Martin Furlong, Mike Salsbury, Pedro Cullum, Les Knowles, Paul Hoare, David Wiltshire, Charles Codrington, Tony Wildman, Owen Tollman, David Carrington, Richard Gage,  Mike Lennox,  David Fletcher, and Richard Owen.

But I must also give a special thanks to both Martin Stonecliffe and Mike Salsbury.  Without Martin's good services in carting both myself, and the kit, around, life would be more difficult.  And also to Mike Salsbury who very kindly stores all our kit, year in and year out.  Many thanks guys !
