On Tuesday 23rd Feb the Rotary Club of Abergavenny held a public speaking competition called ‘Youth Speaks’ at King Henry VIII School, for pupils in our Rotary Area.

There are several different competitions (Young Musician, Young Chef, Young Writer etc.) that are organised with the sole purpose of encouraging school age students to develop a broad range of interests and skills. Five teams took part in this event, two from King Henry, two from Crickhowell and one from Abertillery. A team from Crickhowell won.

The attached photo shows the winning team of Phoebe Gregory, Billy Maguire and Rhys Parish, from Crickhowell, together with the event organiser Derek Lewis of the Rotary Club of Abergavenny.

The Annual Steam Rally returned on 3rd and 4th June 2022 after a break of three years due to lockdown. The Rally is the main source of funds for the Rotary Club to donate to worthy causes via it's Charity the Abergavenny Rotary CIO.
