The area finals of the Rotary Young Musician and Vocalist competition was held in Ebbw Vale
Rotary Young Musician/Vocalist - Area Final.
The Area final of Rotary Young Musician/Vocalist of the year was held at Ebbw Vale earlier this month. Thank you to the Rotarians who supported the event. The audience was treated to a wonderful night of musical talent featuring performers aged 10 -18. Each performer had 10 minutes to impress the three judges and the standard was exceptionally high. Abergavenny’s Cara Newsam of King Henry VIII, playing the pedal harp was awarded runner-up.
In the vocal category Abergavenny’s Bethan Gillson, Head Girl at King Henry VIII gave an excellent performance despite the daunting task of being the first performer to take to the stage.
Chairman of the judges, Steve Bard, commented on the exceptionally high standard of musicianship displayed by the youngsters.

The Annual Steam Rally returned on 3rd and 4th June 2022 after a break of three years due to lockdown. The Rally is the main source of funds for the Rotary Club to donate to worthy causes via it's Charity the Abergavenny Rotary CIO.
