In the midst of all this busyness, six members of the club managed to head off to Hamburg for a few days to visit a sister Rotary Club. The focus of the visit was very much on the evening spent with the Rotary Club of Hamburg, but the group did manage to visit some of the sights of the city including the Christmas Markets, the largest model railway in the world, a tour of the harbour and exploring an old Russian submarine.
The group consisting of Patrick Dixon, Harry Mark, Ronnie Cryer, Ken Fraser, Andrew Lester and Stephen Blakey had an enjoyable visit (Photos of this) and were back in Duns in time to give a full report to the Thursday evening meeting, at which Duns Rotary Club successfully moved to the next stage of the Rotary Quiz with a closely fought victory over the Rotary Club of Eyemouth.
The club is in good heart and is now preparing to support the local community with all the plans for Santa to appear at many venues across the area.
