Charity Auction
Charlie Ross Auction Rooms in Woburn

We had the auction today at The Charles Ross Woburn Auction House and I was the auctioneer for the charity lots. We raised a further £988, yes that's right £988 from the 19 lots. The money was primarily for local charities including Sue Ryder at Moggerhanger and CHUMS of Bedford.

Three lots actually raised £690 and the other 16 lots raised the remaining

£300 - and that included Gerry Garners raffle booby prize of a bright yellow phone which raised £25.

The three items that raised the most were a reproduction Brown Trout - £440; a pair of Zeiss Binoculars £110; A still life painting of a dead Hare and two dead pheasants hanging in a kitchen - £140. (All donated by Chris K).

I have attached a couple of pictures and my introductionwhich explains the two charities more fully!!

Regards

Peter

Gentlemen,

You may recall that a few weeks ago I sent you all a request for items to be auctioned for charity at the Charlie Ross Auction Rooms in Woburn. This was as an extension to the Hog Roast earlier in the year.

I am pleased to say that we now have the requisite number of items of varying quality and the actual auction will be taking place on Saturday 17th October starting at 10.00 am. (Please note it in your diary!).

Russell has agreed there will be no buyers’ or sellers’ premium so profits from everything we sell will be donated to one of Bedford Castles own supporting charities. All of our donated items will be in the first 20 lots so this part of the auction will last no more than c30 mins although there will be a number of other lots following on from our session.

If you cannot come to the event and bid in person I am very happy to send you the list of items we have been given such that you can place a bid in advance of the sale. This will be treated as a commission or book bid on the day of the auction.

In addition to this Russell has kindly offered to host a private preview/viewing evening between 6pm and 8pm on Thursday 15th October where he, Russell will provide some liquid refreshment and canapés. Please let me know if you are planning to attend this preview evening so that he can cater for the correct number.

Your attendance and support at either or both events would be greatly appreciated.

 Thank you for your support
