On Thursday 26th November, Rotarians stewarded the procession along Queensferry High Street to the ceremony of switching on the Christmas lights. Santa was there on his sleigh, and after taking honoured guests to the stage, was soon  busy greeting children who eagerly queued to tell him what they wanted for Christmas. The ceremony which was hosted by Councillor Norman Work and Rev David Cameron, concluded with a display of fireworks from Sealscraig point. Rotarians then enjoyed soup and sandwiches in the Hawes Inn and held a short meeting. David Buchanan announced that Connor Faherty and Megan Porteous of Queensferry High School  took two of the top three places in the second round of the Rotary District Young Chef Competition on Friday 27th November. Connor was placed first and Megan was placed third. Ellie Galloway from Longniddry came second. The next heat takes place in Livingston on 6th February. President Kate Gibb and all members congratulated Connor and Megan for an excellent performance.
