Sunday 14th June enjoy a trip on the West Somerset Railway from Bishops Lydiard to Dunster. A gentle walk into the village and lunch at the Luttrell Arms. There will be time to browse the many gift shops in the village or for the adventurous, a visit to Dunster Castle.
We make our own way to Bishop Lydiard, , near Taunton (large free car park) where we catch the 10.25am steam hauled train. The train winds its way through the Somerset countryside passing stations such as Crowcombe, Williton, Watchet, Washford and Blue Anchor before reaching the tiny station of Dunster.
After a 20 minute walk up to the village we assemble in the Luttrell Arms for lunch at 12.30. A separate room has been reserved, accommodating up to 24 people.
After lunch there will be time to amble around the village before walking back to the station for the journey home. Some may wish to visit the castle and can catch the later train.
