Young Chef 2015 - Local Heat

We have once again held our local heat of the RIBI Young Chef competition.

Once again we have organised a local heat of the Rotary in Great Britain & Ireland Young Chef competition and we are grateful to Eggbuckland Community College for hosting us.

Once again the quality of the cooking was extremely high and this year we saw 6 youngsters representing Eggbuckland, Devonport High School for Boys and Devonport High School for Girls fight it out to be crowned our champion.

Judges Martin Benjamin and Maja Sinkiewicz from The Samphire Bush restaurant had a really tough time deciding the winner with just 1 point splitting first and second place - with the others not far behind. Year 10 student Lois from DHSG came out on top with Martin remarking that her salmon main course was not far off restaurant quality - not bad for a 13 year old!!!! She now goes on to the District round next February.
