The winners of this popular annual junior school football tournament this year were Cranbourne A team

Another Fantastic Junior Schools Football Tournament!

A good turnout saw 17 teams from 10 primary schools take part in the 25th Mount Grace School, 7-a-Side Football Tournament.  It was an exciting morning of football, with all of the children proud to represent their schools.  The Rotary Club of Brookmans Park was once again very pleased to be sponsors of the tournament.

All those watching were treated to a high standard of skilful and often exciting football, despite the weather, as by the time the semi-finals were played, all the players, the referees and the supporters were soaked to the skin.

Cranbourne A beat Brookmans Park A 1-0 in the first semi-final and Cuffley A beat Oakmere A 2-0 in the second.

Cranbourne A and Cuffley A met in a tense final. After a closely fought, thrilling match, Cuffley couldnt quite find an equaliser and winner and Cranbourne beat Cuffley 2-1.

Rotary Club Vice-President David Saunders said It was a really exciting day of football, played in an excellent sporting spirit, topped off by a very exciting final with great support from parents, teachers and onlookers.

The trophies were presented by David Saunders, Vice-President of Brookmans Park Rotary, accompanied by Peter Baker, Head Teacher of Mount Grace School.

Thanks go to Danielle Jenkins from Mount Grace School for organising the tournament, to all the helpers from the Mount Grace PTFA, who worked very hard providing refreshments. Thanks also go to the Mount Grace BTEC Sports Students who helped organise and run the tournament and all the helpers, including Rotarians from Brookmans Park.
