Potters Bar and Villages football squad win the RIBI Inter-District U12 Football tournament

The Annual RIBI Inter-District U12 Football tournament took place at St Georges Park, (the home of the National Football Centre, the FA new home of English football) and was organised by Burton upon Trent Rotary club in Staffordshire. Brookmans Park Rotary Club and Rotary D1260 were pleased to sponsored the Potters Bar and Villages District Squad. 

It was a five a side tournament for youngsters under 12 years of age. Thirteen teams entered and were split into two groups, one of six and one of seven and all the teams in each group played each other, earning 3 points per win. Potters Bar and Villages District squad won all their six matches and ended up as group winners with a 18 points maximum. 

They then played against the runners up from the other group, Preston, who had won the inaugural tournament in 2013 and beat them 4-1. The other group winners Teversal then played our group runners up, Brick Juniors, from the Liverpool area in the other semi-final and were beaten. The final was then played between Potters Bar and Brick Juniors and Potters Bar repeated their earlier result and beat them 5-0.

The winning team was presented with a trophy and individual medals by RIBI National President Peter King and Ian Storey-Moore, a former Man United.
