On Tuesday 12th May the club was given a presentation about Lasting Power of Attorney. It included some quite scary statistics. They show a higher number of people are living well into their 80’s. However at least half of those will develop some form of dementia or Alzheimer’s.
A Lasting Power of Attorney (LPA) is a legal tool that allows you to appoint someone to make certain decisions on your behalf. The appointed person can manage your finances for you in the future and also make decisions relating to your health and welfare. It may never be needed but needs to be looked upon it as a form of essential insurance.
Making
an LPA ensures that the person you want to make decisions for you will be able
to do so.
The vote of thanks was given by President Mike Clutton
