7.15pm Speaker meeting (Colin Lovell)

Past President Colin Lovell was introduced as the speaker by a somewhat bemused Immediate Past President Steve Butler.  Among the guests was Maria Klitou who had come with the latest club member Gordon Mackie

Colin, a West Country man had chosen to speak about th Eddyston Lighthouse and its environs. Four( some say five)  famous lighthouses have been built to mark the dangerous Eddystone Reef, a treacherous group of rocks that lie some 14 miles south west of Plymouth.The first was started in 1696 and the light in the present one was lit in 1882.
