Andrew Newton was inducted into the club as an associate member at the meeting yesterday.

The annual accounts were approved at the SGM and Chris Eyes was elected Club President for 2015-16.

Robert Ankcorn was elected President Nominee, David Wells Secretary and John Groves Treasurer for 2014-15.

Rodney and Barry Saunders were elected voting members for the annual conference of the Association 2013-14 with Chris Eyes deputy.

The Club agreed that 250 be donated to Hope and Homes for Children in David Hainsworth's memory and also agreed that a second Shelterbox be bought for 590 for Syria.

Six Shelterboxes have been sent for the Philippines Appeal.

Crocus bulbs have been planted on Rotary Way. There will be a litter pick in the New Year.

Eight members helped with car parking at the Dementia Forward Santa Fun Run on December 1st and Abbeyfields residents enjoyed the Young Musicians' concert. Members were thanked for the generous response to the Food Bank collection.

Rodney had chaired a meeting that agreed a draft proposal of club rules incorporating existing club guidelines with a selection of Pete Smith's proposed rules based on the Rotary GB&I handbook. These will be available on the club website and discussed at the next Business meeting.

Areas of discussion at the Membership sub committee included mentors, corporate membership, potential new members and the retention of existing members. Colin Hunter is willing to lead learning sessions for new members.

Hazel Haas is proposing a District Rotary column each month in Ackrill press.

A cheque for 475 has been sent to District for the 2014 RYLA candidate course.

Tony and Chris will be Santa and assistant at Darley Mill in aid of Cancer Research.

The Service Above Self award has been presented to a Ripon Grammar School student.

Seventy people will be attending the Christmas dinner at Black Sheep Brewery.

Planning continues for the visit to a Countdown recording on 24th February.
