Once again, the Rotary Club of Hungerford took over the Bruce Barge 'Rebecca' (for the week of 14-21 September) to provide days out for the elderly, infirm, disabled and disadvantaged in our community.
The Bruce Boats are specially adapted and equipped for use by disabled passengers with access lifts and disabled toilets among other specialist facilities.
This year the club was able to welcome a diverse range of guests including 'Experiencing Education' , 'Hungerford Day Centre' and groups from Hungerford and Kintbury.
This is a great example of Rotary service where the opportunity is to put something back into the community without just shaking tins and asking for money!
All our guests reported a most enjoyable day on the Canal and it would seem that the Rotarians enjoyed themselves as well! Can anyone guarantee return of the fabulous weather for next year!
