CLUB SERVICE COMMITTEE
COMMITTEE UPDATE JANUARY 2015
Public Relations:
Since July 2014 we have had 28 articles in the local press regarding club activities and 7 articles related to club members undertaking work with other charities (with grateful thanks to Peter Race)
Club Membership: (Membership sub committee)
Sadly John Stockdale a Rotarian for several years and well know figure in the community died.
On a happier note since July 2014 we have welcomed two new full members, one transfer from Associate to full membership, one transfer from a neighbouring club and one new Associate member. We continue to seek and encourage female members.
A named mentor has been appointed for each new member and work is ongoing developing a new member information booklet.
Club membership booklet:
John Middleton kindly produced an addendum to the booklet detailing new member details. Development work on the club website continues.
President Rodney and Almoner John Whelan have specifically maintained contact with those members suffering ill health, and President Rodney again visited rotary widows prior to Christmas delivering gifts especially to widows who were unable to join the club at the Christmas dinner.
The speaker programme has provided a variety of interesting topics given by club members and external speakers.
