Sponsored golf tuition for St. Joseph's Academy pupils

Earlier this year our Club in conjunction with Fields in Trust (formerly The National Playing Fields Assocn) sponsored golf tuition for eight pupils from St Joseph's Academy. 

This was held at the North Gailes Driving Range in Irvine covering a period of eight  weeks, the pupils accompanied by Alan Ward, Head Teacher, David Reynolds and David Baxter from Fields in Trust and David Hill from our Club. 

The boys were complete novices to the game and were taken through the basic fundamentals of the game (including etiquette) to a reasonable standard by the end of the course, as may be seen from the photos. The teaching was mainly in the range bays but the final day involved the boys playing six holes on the adjacent course, a serious reality check!. 

All the boys displayed significant improvement over the eight weeks and Alan Ward and the boys were very appreciative of the opportunity to take part.
