Nowadays we take pharmaceutical drugs for granted but our speaker on 24 February, scientist Fiona Brooks, was able to demonstrate to the Club the extensive and exhaustive process that pharmaceutical companies go through first of all to identify products worth developing, then to refine and test the product so that it can be brought to market.
