Long Term Exchange - lasts for an academic year. You will attend school or college while living with one or more host families, who will treat you as a member of the family. You will become integrated into a completely different society, learn different ways of thinking, of speaking and of viewing the world.
Short Term Exchange - spend two weeks or more, usually during the summer holidays, staying with an exchange partner in their family home and exploring a different country, another culture and possibly another language. You then host the same exchage partner in your home for a similar period.
