Welcome to the Rotary Club of Bedford. Like all Rotarians we are volunteers who care about improving the quality of people's lives. We are a very active, moderately-sized club of around 60 members consisting mainly of retired professional men and women who live in and around Bedford. Since being chartered in 1923 we have given our time and varied skills successfully to complete many projects in our locality, the UK and overseas. Each year we focus on supporting one or two local charities. Typically our biggest programme is aimed at helping young people whether through speaking competitions, young musician competitions, young chef competitions, encouraging young leaders of the future, sponsoring young people on outward-bound type courses or giving disadvantaged children the opportunity to experience activity-based days out.
If you want to help your community, explore this website and contact us.
On 25th November we are holding our annual Swimathon charity fund raising event at Bedford School. For more information go to http://www.rotaryswimathon.org.uk
