About us

Chartered in March 1922, the Rotary Club of Sunderland is one of the older clubs in the Northeast of England and still enjoys a strong membership.

Our members serve our fellow citizens in a most active and satisfying way, enabling the club to fulfil the object of Rotary, with benefit to our local community and the wider world in the battle against disease, poverty and  basic needs such as clean water and sanitation. Like many of our sister clubs we are able to contribute help and shelter in times of natural disaster. The club works closely with the University of Sunderland in reaching out to fellow citizens to make our community a better place and in July 2014 has been conferred with an Honorary Fellowship  by the University.

We are constantly seeking the support of younger achievers living and working in the local community or perhaps seeking to graduate in their career choice at university.  Rotary has much to offer .
