Welcome to the website of the Rotary Club of North Shields

The club was founded in 1923, and its members came from a broad sector of the local community.  Its membership included many local Business and Professional men. Over the years, as society changed, so has the format for Rotary, including our membership profile.

There is a belief that with changes in working practices and the leisure time activies, there is less enthusiasm for joining service organisations such as Rotary.  However this does not mean that our organisation is not needed.  We believe that Rotary is just as important today as it was in 1905, when it was started.

Club activities, local, social and charitable causes still occupy our time.
