About us

Club No. 22061

CHARTERED ON 17 SEPTEMBER 1984,

OUR CLUB HAS ENTERED ITS 34th YEAR OF SERVICE

President 2017-2018:

Andy Bottoms

WELCOME TO THE ROTARY CLUB OF BRETBY

I am pleased to welcome you to the website of the Rotary Club of Bretby. We are the evening Club for Burton upon Trent and the surrounding area and we meet every Monday at 6.45pm for 7.15pm (apart from Bank Holidays).

I have the great honour to be the President of the Club for the Rotary year 2017-2018 and I invite you to browse the newly updated website, to gain information about “Rotary International”, our lead organisation, about our Club, how the Club works, what projects we support and how we enjoy ourselves.

If you are not a Rotarian then please look at either the top left ‘MENU’ which will take you to the 'NEW MEMBERS' section or the 'WHAT WE DO' button at the top right of this page – the drop-down Menu will also take you to New Members page. If you would like to talk to someone about joining us then please click the CONTACT “envelope” at the top of the page.

The program for this year, run by our men & women members, includes two major projects, one supports the renovation of a building which will allow the local church group that runs it, to support the community even more effectively. Another Project will place Sports Equipment for youngsters use, to provide much needed facilities for that area of Burton on Trent. We will continue to support International projects such as the ‘End Polio Now’ campaign, and intend to support Youth activities as much as we can, using, for instance Rotary Young Leader Award to provide much needed training for young people before they go off into the world of work or higher education. Support across the community, for schools and for both young and old, with hands-on work. Santa at Christmas will provide much needed funds and fun!

I have been a Rotarian since 2009, and consider joining the Rotary Club of Bretby as one of the best decisions I have made. Having fun and friendship whilst helping other people is a magical combination.

Why not come and visit us and judge for yourself?

Yours in Rotary

Andy Bottoms
