Samantha Ridgway from u3a South Lakes was our speaker on 23rd March. She tempted Rotarians with a list of nearly 90 activity groups from the University of the 3rd Age organisation happening locally.
The u3a began in Toulouse; the UK model is not attached to an actual university, but shares the same ethos of self help and shared learning - sharing skills, knowledge and experience.
u3a S Lakes is an independent charity affiliated to the UK organisation. There is a £15 membership fee and a £2/session charge which covers venue hire.
