Cheque for £1,000 towards their new boat

Bexhill Rotary Club donate £1,000 to
Pett Level Independent Lifeboat

Bexhill Rotary Club were delighted to be able to present a cheque for £1,000 to Pett Level Independent Lifeboat. The monies were part of the funds raised at last year's Santa's Sleigh appeal which involved ten separate outings around the Bexhill area.

Pett Level Independent Lifeboat is just one of the amazing volunteer services who help to save lives of those in difficulty around our coastline.

They are, as the name suggests, an independent service which supports and augments the work carried out by the local life boats at Rye and Hastings. They work alongside the RNLI and often get called out when Hastings or Rye are unable to respond. The Charity covers the whole of Rye Bay and along the coast as far as Bexhill. They are raising money for a new larger boat which will enable them to go further and carry more crew and passengers. As a result of this they also need to extend and expand their boathouse . The combined costs of this project is over £200,000.

Over last three years they have been actively raising money towards this end and are close to meeting the target for the boat house. The money raised by Bexhill Rotary is going specifically towards the cost of the new boat.
